Which of these acne products would be the best for my acne?
Ok well i don’t have bad-severe acne just a few (especially on my forehead) and I just don’t like it and I’ve been watching these comercials on tv lately and I’ve been thinking about giving these products a try: Proactiv, Skind ID, or Acne Complex. I do buy some neutrogena from wal-mart every now and than.
Have any of ya tried any of these products?
Is drinking plenty of water good for the skin?
I did some research and talked to my doctor to find the most common causes of acne.
• Hormones: The number one cause of acne is the production of sex hormones, known as androgen, that begins at puberty. This is why majority of acne sufferers are adolescents and teens. Hormones are responsible for then acne flare-ups during menstruation and pregnancy.
• When the sebaceous gland is stimulated by androgens, it produces extra sebum. In its journey up the follicle toward the surface, the sebum mixes with common skin bacteria and dead skin cells that have been shed from the lining of the follicle. While this process is normal, the presence of extra sebum in the follicle increases the chances of clogging — and acne.
• Stress: can also cause the production of hormones, such as cortisol, which can aggravate acne. Stress brings upon different hormone levels. With hormone changes the body prompts the skins oil glands to enlarge, secreting more oil. Which causes white heads, black heads and pimples.
• Oily or heavy make up: Heavy make-up clogs the pores and oily make-ups add more oil, which only adds to the problem if oily skin already exists. Cosmetics, especially certain moisturizers, foundations and pomades contain lanolin, petrolatum, vegetable oils, butyl stearate, lauryl alcohol and oleic acid.
• Certain medications and steroids: Vitamins are good for your body, But an excess of vitamins B1, B6 and B12 can cause acne flare-ups. These vitamins are good for the skin, but avoid overuse.
• Diets: For some people, a diet that is high in refined carbohydrates and sugars can actually aggravate their acne.
• Over abrasive cleansing: Harsh exfoliators can damage skin and spread infections.
• Picking and squeezing: This can actually send the infection deeper into the skin and can cause scarring.
• Environmental irritants: such as high humidity and pollution. High humidity actually causes swelling of skin. Pollution is of course is a big cause for clogging your pores.
• Genes: Family members who are also acne sufferers. Acne is inherited and severe cases known as cystic acne usually come from heredity.
And…
What the skin needs is a product that clears pores and kills bacteria, thus preventing hair follicles from clogging and turning into acne. This is what you should be looking for if you want to get rid of those ugly acne.
Before trying any treatment, I suggest you read this informational source that listed the most effective acne treatments available:

i tried using proactiv like 2 weeks ago and it’s working great so far. i’ve heard mixed reviews about it though; it doesn’t work for everyone.
i used to use neutrogena advanced (also a 3-step system) and that worked great as well and it’s cheaper.
i have pretty much the same acne as you- i usually break out a little on my forehead and chin but that’s it.
I personally use Clean&Clear. I love it! It works for me, and should work for you! I’m not sure about the drinking water part! But i know washing your face in the morning& before you go to sleep at night helps A LOT! Well hope i helped
neutrogena skin polishing works great for me its a 3 step system
proactive sucks trust me it will work but once you stop using it youll get pimples again!! so you have to keep on using it i use oatmeal and honey i rub it on my face and leave it for a good while it actually works(:
i’m not sure about the water thing. but neutrogena i don’t think that stuff works sometimes it made my faces break out even more. skin ID is not true! if you go online and fill out the questions they ask they just give you a random answer. me and my friend both filled it out with the same exact answers and both got different results! acne complex dried my face out but proactiv actually works like really good!
I use Clean and Clear. The astringent for my chest and back and the small tube or astringent to spot it on my face pimples. My friends always ask how I manage to have such clear skin. I usually say its not that clear, though, ’cause I don’t wanna jinx it!
Yes water is good for the skin i would recommend Clearskin from Avon don’t use proactive it will only make t worse
I also have acne. I posted my problems on wish123 and got an excellent advise from an expert. I highly recommend the website!
Acne Marks or Scars
Here is a simple tip that you can use to reduce your acne scars and pigmentation.
The Oil Cleansing Method
What you will need:
Warm Water
Cold Water
Clean Towels
Castor Oil
Olive Oil
The first thing you need to do is to wash your face gently to remove excess dirt and oils from the surface.
You will then need to warm a clean towel in warm water and apply it to your face for 3 minutes. Do the same thing with the cold water but this time for one minute.
Carry out both the warm water and cold water procedure about 3 times but always finish with cold and then pat dry with another clean towel.
Next mix a small amount of castor oil with a small amount of olive oil. A 50/50 ratio will do just fine. Apply the mixture to your skin and let it stay there for 30 minutes and then rinse with warm water. Pat dry with a clean towel and you are good to go.

I don’t know about the rest of them products except proactive what never really worked for me , the best advice I can give you is eat healthy. Make sure you drink plenty of water. Cut down on sugar and carb intake. Foods like chocolates, coffee, soda drinks, bread, rice potatoes or anything starchy and sugary are no-nos. Cut down on oily and fried foods also. Go for grilled, steamed or baked food. Make sure you eat lots of fruits and vegetables. Ensure that your diet is rich in vitamin A, C, E and Omega-3 which are important for the skin. Less stress and sleeping enough is also important. Not having enough sleep is like putting stress on your body. Makes sure you sleep at least 8 hours a day.
I use this site last year to help get rid of my acne and It worked really well for me , got rid of mine in about a week http://www.StopMyAcne.info Its got alot of information on what healthy foods what cure acne fast
