This is not such an easy choice. There are so many options out there, but you may need to see a professional about the problem, if it is really bad. Could be a hormonal issue, could be cystic acne, which both require professional treatment.
Now if you have casual acne, comes and goes and is not deep set in the skin this is what I used to do, still do on occasion and find it to be the best treatment. Results can take two to three weeks so you do have to keep at it.
Noxema.
Fill the sink with hot water (not scalding, but hot). With a facecloth soak the cloth, quickly wring it out and open it, then put it on your face for about a minute, so the heat opens the pores. Remove cloth and apply Noxema all over your face. Let the Noxema sit there for about five minutes. It will tingle and feel wonderful. After the five minutes rinse it all off with hot water, using your face cloth. On your last application with the face cloth, let the sink drain and run the cold water faucet. Wet your facecloth and get it cold, wring out, place on face for about 30 seconds to close the pores.
You should do this morning and night. If you can get away to do it at lunch time, do it then too. Do not put other things on your face or you will block up the pores and create more acne.
Good luck, try it, give it time to work and then once your skin is clean, just keep treating it well like that.
Now if this does not work for you, Phisoderm works well too. Otherwise, be sure to see a skin doctor for the problem.
go ahead and order proactiv. seriously. none of the over the counter medicine ever worked for my brother, but now he’s cleared up completely from using proactiv. that stuff really works.
ProActiv didn’t work for me at all; actually, it made things worse. My skin felt so greasy after using their products.
I use a combination of products including Oil of Olay Daily Facial Cleanser for Acne Prone Skin, Clean & Clear Toner, Neutrogena Acne Treatment Lotion and sometimes I use Neutrogena On-the-Spot treatment.

Don’t order Pro Active. It sucks!!! I love Clean&Clear. It works so well. Here is a link…

I use those too products (see below) at the moment and I love it. They also sell a 3piece-kit for just 20 bucks.
