What is the best over the counter acne treatment?
I hаνе moderate acne аnd hаνе tried several things thаt haven’t hеlреd much. I hаνе very oily skin ѕο I need something thаt саn hеlр wіth thаt bυt won’t dry out mу skin tοο bаd. Anу suggestions?
Acne is at best a very unpleasant condition to live with, but there are steps you can take to try to improve it. The traditional route is to contact your doctor to see what they would recommend. But theses days many are bypassing the doctor and going straight to the drugstore.
But how do you decide what is the best over the counter acne treatment for you and what advice do you take? There is so much advertising for different products that it is hard to know which is the best for you. Probably the first step to take in deciding, is whether you want to use a traditional medical treatment, or a one of the growing number of natural health products and remedies.
There are a growing number of natural products, as the trend towards a more holistic type of lifestyle becomes more popular. These products can be very good, but it is probably worth doing a little research so that you are quite clear about what you are buying and what it is supposed to do for your skin.
Traditional medical treatments are much more straightforward and many of the most popular contain salycic acid or benzoyl peroxide. If you prefer to go for the natural products, there are many to choose from, such as tea tree oil, aloe vera and Vitamin E. It is difficult to say which is the best over the counter acne treatment, as different products will suit different people. Most products whether natural or traditional, work by drying the skin to prevent excess oil building up and leading to acne.
Rather than buying the product that looks the best in the shop, it is usually best to ask the pharmacist for advice on which is the best over the counter acne treatment. They usually have extensive experience in dealing with this and are likely to know the products that work. There is a wide range to choose from and getting advice, is probably a good idea.
Even though you may have been very careful to buy the best over the counter acne treatment, it is possible that it is not suitable for your skin. If after trying a new treatment you experience any pain or discomfort it is best to check with your doctor. There are many treatments available and it is a good idea to get some good advice as to which is the best for your skin type, before you buy.

Here is a simple tip that you can use to reduce your acne scars and pigmentation.
The Oil Cleansing Method
What you will need:
Warm Water
Cold Water
Clean Towels
Castor Oil
Olive Oil
The first thing you need to do is to wash your face gently to remove excess dirt and oils from the surface.
You will then need to warm a clean towel in warm water and apply it to your face for 3 minutes. Do the same thing with the cold water but this time for one minute.
Carry out both the warm water and cold water procedure about 3 times but always finish with cold and then pat dry with another clean towel.
Next mix a small amount of castor oil with a small amount of olive oil. A 50/50 ratio will do just fine. Apply the mixture to your skin and let it stay there for 30 minutes and then rinse with warm water. Pat dry with a clean towel and you are good to go.

I’ve been in that situation and there is really nothing you can do about it. There are things you can do to try to reduce the blemishes and get rid of acne/pimples temporarily but you will always be finding yourself cleaning your face or your body depending on where it’s at.
I mean of course your acne should go away eventually but for some this is the case their whole life.
I’m 29 years old and have been suffering from these little pests since I was a teenager. I tried all sorts of face washes from the local grocery store and what not, but nothing seemed to work. If anything it would just make my skin dry and itchy.
Literally the best acne face wash I’ve ever used has been this stuff called clearpores. It has got rid of the acne to quickest and has been a success ever since I got it. It’s unique cause of it’s herbal supplement you take a long with it that helps your skin from the inside out. I saved money on it at skincleansingsystem.com at the time which was helpful.
You should really look into this stuff and if you can to assure the best results, get the 3 month supply because if it doesn’t work it will still save you butt on the return policy.
Well good luck and best wishes.

1) First make sure that your face is washed at least morning and night with facial soap like Neutrogena oil free acne wash or Neutrogena invigorating deep cleansing scrub (foaming: its blue, highly recommended). Other foaming acne washes work well also (Clearasil Ultra Daily, Noxzema Triple Clean).
2) Make sure that the towel you use to dry your face is clean. Be sure to wash the towel at least once a week. Only use that towel to dry your clean face, and body when coming out of the shower. The towel must be hung away from the toilet so that it can’t be splashed by pee/flushing of the toilet. You will be surprised how far pee can splash without you knowing it.
Shower at night, and make sure that soap has cleaned every inch of your body, including your butthole, and rinse thoroughly. Don’t forget your ears behind and outside. Wash from the top down: Hair, ears, face, arms, body/back, legs.
3) Apply a 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide cream to your face morning and night after washing/drying your face. It works just as well as 5% and 10%, but doesn’t dry your skin out, which can make it break out more. Neutrogena makes a good product for this also. (On The Spot Acne Treatment). Make sure your hands are clean. Put a dot on your forehead, both cheeks, nose and chin, and rub into your skin until it vanishes.
4) Don’t get into your bed unless you are clean, especially your face and hair. This also means don’t get in if you are wearing clothes that you have worn outside, absolutely no dirty socks or shoes. A lot of pimples form at night, so make sure that the bed you sleep in is clean. Make sure the sheets are cleaned once a week.
5) Try not to touch your face with your hands, especially if they haven’t been washed. If you’ve touched doorknobs, desks, computers, gym equipment, sports equipment, etc don’t touch your face until you’ve washed your hands.
6) Get more sun. Make sure that your face is clean first, dry your face, apply the benzoyl peroxide, let it dry. Then apply SPF 15-45 sunscreen depending on your skin tone from dark to pale. Wash your face after activity in the sun.
7) If the above doesn’t work, then see your physician. He may prescribe you antibiotics (oral or topical) or Retin-A cream or both. These have side effects so try to go to your doctor only after the above regimen hasn’t helped for six months. Accutane is the last resort because of its side effects.
Hey i also had moderate acne but have cleared it. This is how i did it.
First this is how i choose my products: I used a book called "Dont go to the cosmetics counter without me" This book is a lifesaver and is what ultimatly cleared up my skin.
Tips: Change your pillow case at least once a week
change your wash cloth at least twice a week
wash or sanatize your hands before washing
be consistant!! you have to wash and what not twice a day
CLEANSER: Dont waste your time on cleansers that have sayclic acid and what not in them because they will go down the drain before they even have time to work, plus the Ph levels can be off which can be potentially irratating towards skin. so…. use a good water soluble cleanser like this one: CLEAN AND CLEAR FOAMING FACIAL CLEANSER SENSITIVE SKIN
I love this cleanser and it is suitable for any skin type. it is rated as one of the best cleansers you can get at the drugstore
TONER: Dont use any toner w/ alchol in it. It will irrate your pore lining which could make new acne or make the current acne red and inflamed. at the drug store you can by the NEUTROGENA alchol free toner or the BOOTS expert sensitve refreshing toner. Those are both ok toners that ar very basic (I use those). IF you are willing to go more expensive some very very good toners for oily skin are PAULS CHOICE, Healthy skin refreshing toner for nrmal to oily or ESTEE LAUDER re-nutriv intensive softening lotion
LOTION: This lotion you are only going to use in the morning and not at night, you can use BOOTS expert sensitive light moisturizing lotion, which is a very good lotion, if you want spf you could use NEUTROGENA healthy skin visibly even daily spf 15 moisturizer (Both suitable for oily skin)
TREATMENT: This treatment you ar only going to use once a day at night, ((more times is optional) I use NEUTROGENA oil-free acne stress control 3-1 hydrating acne treatment (Good for all skin Types) . This is a miracle worker, i cant even begin to tell you how awesome this product is. For this u just put it all over your face. Another one you could use is the Pro Active Repairing lotion which i also know is very good.
SCRUB: U will use this scrub twice a week, and ik a good one for oily skin is BOOTS expert sensitive gentle smoothing srub, or NEUTROGENA fresh foaoming scrub
These are all very well rated products that actually do work!! I hope you have good luck with these and do try these because ik from personal expeirence that they do work:)
PS: I used that book i mentioned to specially pick products that will work for you
