What is the best acne treatment or product?
I have used proactive, neutrogena, gels, and other useless products that just didn’t cure my acnes.
my skin is very oily and sensitive. I use make up every time I get out of home, like powder stuff. o and yeah I’m 18 yrs old and have acne since i was about 13 years old.
anyways, have u tried any acne product or treatment that actually worked for u?

1. Put toothpaste on your pimple before you go to bed, should help reduce swelling overnight. Make sure it is the paste not the gel. One of the most popular acne home remedies.
2. Wash your face twice a day in warm salty water. This should leave your face oil free without aggravating the acne.

14. Clean face with cotton wool dipped in rose water 2-3 times a day.
15. Mix 1 teaspoon lemon juice in 1 teaspoon finely ground cinnamon powder and apply on affected areas frequently.

Mix 1 heaped teaspoon of base powder to 3 drops of essential oil. Add approximately 2 tablespoons of the water in, to make a fluid yet balanced paste. Essential oils to add in the mask either separately or try smaller amounts together; cypress oil 1 drop, lemon oil 2 drops, sage oil 1 drop.

I was just at my doctor today, and he said to use things that have Benzyl Peroxide as the first ingredient in the ingredients list. Benzyl Peroxide is antibacterial.
I stopped using acne products because it dried my skin out, which made my pores make excessive amounts of oil causing more acne. I started drinking the recommended 8 cups of water a day and stopped eating fatty/junky foods and myskin cleared up within 2 weeks
also, clean your pillow case every few days, a dirty pillow contributes a lot to acne

as for face wash, you say you have oily skin.
i do too, use biore it really worked for me.

and make sure to wash your face with a cloth.

the oil on your hands makes it worse.
also, before you go to sleep at night either put some rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball and rub it all over your face. but not too much.
or take powder and cover your face with it like a mask.

and doesn’t allow pimples to grow.
or, steam your face,
and then close the pores with ice.

try changing some of the foods you eat a lot of. like fried, oil, greasy foods. a lot of sweets too. when i break out a lot i know its from a lot of sweets (happens with in a day of eating a lof of sweets.. Otherwise my skin is very clear and healthy, i also use neutrogena though.
try asking the dr. for something. try making sure you get the makeup off b4 bed (never use soap and water though). try washing a daily basis and getting something for oily skin.. i think best try would be the dr though.
i feel for you. I’ve had acne for a while and i can’t find the right thing to use. You might get some good tips here but since everyone has different skin, you’re probably better off going to a dermatologist and finding out exactly what is most effective for you. Good luck
The sun is a natural way of clearing acne up. Oily hair from hair products usually break teenagers out and sweets, everyones different. If its that bad of acne, try going to the doctor and see what they recommend.

I’ve tried a lot of those things and they don’t work for me either. But from what I’ve read, using honey as a mask for about 30 minutes helps. Also, using a cotton ball, dab it into some egg whites then add it to your face. I’ve used this method and it works after a few days. You could also use tomatoes instead of egg whites.
Those were home remedies, for actual medication, Neutrogena works wonders.
My sister used to use Noxzema. it worked really well. you can get it at any drug store.
I use Evoclin foam, expensive but it really clears up your face. Although it may sting a little when you first put it on, it is gentler than some. And if you have any breakouts on your back or anything like that, it works anywhere, so it’s worth the price.

Well I myself had acne, I started breaking out when I started running in the track team. I lost confidence, and was embarrassed to speak to people. What I did was go to the doctor, and he prescribed me Oral medication, and a face gel. The Oral medication (Minocycline) fought the skin infection which you might have, and the gel made me peel which causes my face to grow newer, and brighter skin. At first it was pretty gross, and my face irritated with the sun. So sun screen had to be used. And now I don’t have any acne problems. But all this was prescribed by a doctor. I had it since 4th or 5th grade…used stupid proactive, acne free,……everything. Made my skin worse, some worked 4 a moth and stoped. I finally went to a dermatologist…..and yay! here comes "Epiduo", and "Finacea". The only things that cleared my severe acne and scars….but its perscription and a lot of money, but its worth it. i promise you it will work

Unfortunately from my own experience I found most products didn’t work. One brand I found that helped was called Dermologica.
Helpful tips that I used helped in time to clear up my skin was:Getting older;[Don't wear to much makeup, makeup only clogs ur pores the skin can't breathe, don't pick your face only makes them worse - they will clear up quicker if u leave them alone. I found many products containing peroxide burnt my face, try to use products that derived from natural plant extracts. Last resort talk to ur local GP there are other alternatives out there.

I sympathize with you. I have bought all the same treatments for my son and daughter. Ultimately, I put my son on accutaine but not my daughter because it can cause birth defects–my logic was that men continually make sperm whereas women are born with all their eggs.
