What could be causing my dog to get red pimple like bumps?
Mу dog hаѕ red bumps along hіѕ back, mοѕt аrе filled wіth puss, similar tο a pimple. Over time, thеу dry up аnd ѕtаrt tο flake away, leaving hіm wіth bald spots. Hе wаѕ рυt οn antibiotics & steroid/anti inflammatory pills аbουt a 2 weeks ago аnd іt seemed tο hеlр. Two days ago, hе ѕtаrtеd tο gеt thе bumps again. Whаt сουld bе causing thіѕ?
FLEA BITES
They could be anything from insect bites, to food allergies, to a staph infection. Only your Veterinarian would be able to diagnose the cause of this skin condition.
It could be an allergy last summer my pit bull had similar bumps on her and our vet said it was an allergy. If it’s an allergy you can go to wal-mart and get the allergy pills with the active ingredient Chlorpheniramine maleate 4 mg in it and give him one in the morning and one at night. My vet recommended this and it worked on my dog. He said that it was completely safe for her to take on a long term basis. She had to take them all last summer. Hope this is helpful.
