What cleanser is best for acne-prone, oily skin?
I heard thаt mοѕt cleansers fοr acne-prone аnd oily skin actually mаkе thе skin more oily bесаυѕе thеу strip οff thе oil. Thеn thе skin tries tο cope wіth thаt bу producing more oil. Iѕ thаt trυе? Whаt cleansers wουld уου recommend fοr mе? I hаνе really oily skin аnd I gеt blemishes easily bесаυѕе οf іt. I’ve tried thе neutrogena acne wash аnd іt didn’t work.
Thanks.
pro-activ!
I have combination skin, and I wash off my makeup with Cetaphi (or Cetaphyl) and then use proactiv at night, but make sure you moisturize with an oil free moisturizer during the day (Neutrogina oil free moisturizer for sensitive skin)
GOod luck!
Try Kiehl’s products, they work really well. Also Clinique. Just don’t use proactiv, its awful.
dont use proactiv that stuff is shyt! Use eXposed, it works well for me. Use Clearasil Daily (blue and white bottle) if you cant afford that.
No offense to anyone who has ever used proactive but i personally don’t like proactive. It works for a little while but stops being effective after a while longer. My face is acne prone and very oily. I have constant break outs and it just feels like i can never get rid of it. I will tell you my skin routine and tell you about the face wash i use called CeraVe.
CeraVe is about 12 to 14 dollars at walmart or target. Its a gently cleanser that doesn’t strip you face of all its oils. It claims to give your face hydration while slowly dispersing the hydration over the period of the day as opposed to one burst of hydration that ultimately makes you face oily. Its great for washing off your makeup. It rinses of really well and makes your face feel super hydrated. It keeps my face steady but like i said nothing i have ever used has ever actually cleared my breakouts so i wont guarantee that.
My routine is CeraVe>which hazel(toner) or Loreal hydrafresh toner>%10 benzoyl peroxide>Vita-K solution blotchy skin(moisturizer). The vita k is really great for acne scars.
CeraVe does sell a moisturizer that is supposed to accompany the face wash. I used a trial size about 2 years ago but from i remember it helped my oil, I’m not sure how it would work on my face now so i would research that more.
I hope this helps, i know acne is a pain in the ass but just remember to always wash your makeup off and wash your face 2 times a day and 3 times if you can. Also always moisturize you face, i know it make not seem like you should but it WILL control your oil better than not moisturizing.
I tried a lot of solutions and very few of them showed any real results. I have however found the perfect product that worked for me after wasting a lot of money on useless things.
