What age do you have to be to buy acne medicine ?
I wаѕ thinking οf going tο boots аѕ i saw thе boots acne relief tables οn thе website аnd іt gοt many successful results frοm taking іt. I аm 14 аnd i wаѕ wondering іf i сουld bυt іt, аѕ i once wеnt tο Tesco аnd thеу wouldn’t lеt mе bυу ѕοmе paracetamol, аnd ѕаіd i hаd tο bе 16.
I don’t want tο embarrass mу self whеn i take thе acne medicine tο thе counter аnd nοt being allowed tο bυу іt.
Is it a topical medication or tablets?
If it is topical I think you can buy it, if they are tablets probably not. Why don’t you just ask your parents? I don’t exactly remember all of the rules from when I was living in London so I am not 100% sure.
The other thing you might consider is to see your GP. If you have very mild acne then over the counter medication might help but if it is anything worse you really need to see a doctor for some topical (occasionally oral medications).
There are a few different medications the first are topical retinoids (vitamin A derivatives) examples include adapalene, tretinoin, and tazarotene.
Another type of medications are topical antibiotics, primarily clindamycin but erythromycin or tetracycline may be used.
There are oral antibiotics like erythromycin, tetracycline, doxycycline, minocycline, and Co-trimoxazole (a combination of trimethoprim and sulfamethoxazole).
If other medications fail (or the acne is severe, typically grade III or IV) then the oral retinoid Accutane (isotretinoin) is often used. This medication is, for 70-80% of people, a cure. But almost everyone has incredible results.
And it is also normal to also use the over the counter medication benzoyl peroxide (especially with a topical antibiotic) but many medications are a combination of, for example, clindamycin and benzoyl peroxide.
You can try the OTC stuff but it really is best to see your GP. And everyone has a different skin type and the medication you are thinking of may not be best for you and a doctor can really taler treatment for you. The other important thing is that acne commonly causes scaring and it is very important to get that under control. If what you are thinking about getting costs more than a prescription then you really should see the doctor so you don’t waste your money.
Good luck
I hope that if they see your acne, they will let you buy it. i don’t understand why not. It is just an acne medicine. If they don’t let you, ask them if you could bring your doctor with you.
Boots are great people to help you and go for it get down there as they are so happy to get you as right as rein!
Consult an adult in your family and visit Niapads. Use Niapads – Nicotinamide pads for controlling acne. Just one dab of Niapads on your pimple and watch the pimple fade. Scientists at NY University College of Medicine have shown that Niacinamide (aka Nicotinamide) is superior to antibiotics such as Clindamycin in controlling acne. Niapads is a one step process for reduction of skin hyperpigmentation (acne scars) and acne. You can also cut a piece of Niapads, moisten it with water and place it like a bandaid on stubborn acne. The ingredients penetrate and kill acne bacteria. Simply peel the pad off when it is dry.
