If I have insurance and it includes coverage for a dermatologist is it cheaper to go to a dermatologist to solve my acne problems or buy over the counter products?

i have some acne on my chest and near my upper back……do you know any home remedies to cure it? i dont wanna have to go to a dermatologist…
if it helps, i have long, curly hair….

I’m 19 and have been breaking out on and off. I used to use proactive but ran out of that. Now I use something the dermatologist gave me, but it’s still coming back every now and then.

I struggled with acne for several years until finally my dermatologist suggested I try Accutane. It worked, and I no longer have acne. However, I’ve been left with scars. All types… it was painful enough to suffer through the acne and NOW I have the scars. It never ends! Anyway, does anyone have suggestions for making them less noticeable?

today i went to my dermatologist because i am trying to finally get my skin to be flawless and she prescribed me to the contraceptive ORTHO TRI-CYCLEN. i would like some advice/comments on if it is a good idea to start on it and what some of the side effects really are.

i am mainly worried about the gaining weight part because right now i am in the process of losing weight and i don’t want all my hardwork to go to waste!?!?!?!?!

My mom wants me to try it. She heard more good reviews than bad. But i know it wont work forever so imma use Proactive until she can take me to a dermatologist.(we’re both really busy to i have to wait a while)

I have acne scars all over my face and I want to get rid of them all, by this summer, what will the dermatologist do to treat my acne scars most effectively and removing the scars 100% and how long will it take?

I had pretty bad acne. i got some medicine for it from my dermatologist and it went away after awhile. The medicine I got was clindamycin in the morning and trentoin at night. My skin has been really clear for like 5 months now. But right now I have 2 huge zits on my face. Can the medicine just stop working or am I being paranoid?

I’ve tried lemon juice, ice cubes, original yogurt, to baking soda, but I can’t seem to get rid of my acne SCARS I’ve had them for 3 days but it hasn’t got better. I don’t know what to use, and my mom won’t let me go to the dermatologist. I’ve got rid of acne scars before but for some reason my remedies won’t work now for scarring, what should I use or do?

Well, I’ve gone to a dermatologist about a year ago. He’s given me this oral medicine and this cream. I have very mild acne at the most. I always seem to have mild acne, is this stuff suppose to get rid of it very fast? I heard all these treatments just treat it… So I’m not sure if this stuff prevents acne, or works to get rid of it once i get the acne. So the main question…should my skin be very clear? And does it sound like it’s doing anything?
