Started taking acne medicine and there are several large parts of redness on my face and chest. What can I do?

What is the acne medication you started using? I started taking solodyn recently and since then I’ve gotten a multitude of bumps on my chest and right shoulder which I have never had before.
I’m not exactly sure what to do about this if i should stop taking it or not but i have another appointment with my dermatologist in a week so I’ll talk about it. Mean while im alternating between putting a rash ointment and the acne thing on those breakouts.
I don’t know how you could treat that, but when I had severe acne before, i used Proactive Solutions…. I had huge pimples around my t-zone, but now i honestly hardly get them. and if you are a girl… if it is so severe that you can’t stand it..something you may want to consider is using birth control.. most of them make your complexion better. I have some friends who use it even though they aren’t sexually active but stayed on it because it kept there skin really nice.
It sounds like you are having an allergic reaction to the new acne medication. I would stop taking it immediately and call your dr. I would take some thing for the allergic reaction Benadryl would be a good choice.
