Skin help: mine is rough and dull from acne medicine. Will microdermabrasion help?
I gοt οff οf Accutane аbουt two months ago, аnd іt really cleared up mу skin. Hοwеνеr, now mу skin іѕ dυll, hаѕ аlmοѕt a rough feel tο іt, аnd wеіrd pigmentation іn ѕοmе spots. Hаѕ anyone іn a similar situation used аnу type οf derm method thаt hаѕ hеlреd wіth thіѕ? I’ve read аbουt microdermabrasion, peels, etc, bυt I’m nοt sure whаt wουld work best іn mу situation. Thanks.
if you stopped taking accutane 2 months ago, then it’s safe to start resurfacing. microdermabrasion and chemical peels are both good options, as long as to have them under medical supervision. i have been having microderma for 3 years now and my face is no lunger dull or tired. sime of my fine lines are also less visible.
try 2-3 sessions, see how you feel.
you should get a chemical face peel first they are instant microdermabrasion takes months and it usually will make you skin look more like dog meat before it looks better
Skip the chemicals. Benzoyl peroxide is used to promote cancer in lab animals. Salicylic acid is a form of aspirin, and causes all sorts of damage. Glycolic acid is often an irritant, which will make your problem worse. All three strip your skin of the barrier layer that protects your skin from UV sunlight, increasing UV exposure and causing the same damage as a sunburn, ie, premature aging, skin cancer and more!
Try this:
Use a bar of NATURAL soap – without chemical fragrances, petroleum and acids.
Lather up your face, use a tablespoon or two of baking soda (gentle abrasive that removes loose skin cells and kills bacteria) and mix that into the lather on your skin. Rinse. Wipe your face with witch hazel (an astringent, toner, anti-inflammatory and kills bacteria associated with acne). Then put a bit of natural oil, such as sunflower (rich in naturally bioavailable vitamin E) or extra-virgin olive oil (processed without chemicals and has no chemical residues) all over your face. Leave on for about 15 minutes. Use a clean cotton wash cloth to rub the excess oil off your face. You’ll notice that more oil soaked into the dry areas, and less oil soaked into the oily areas.
I also have a scrub/mask in my profile that would definitely help you. Just click my picture…
