Is it OK to use a different cleanser other than the one that comes with the proactiv start up kit?
I hаνе јυѕt ѕtаrtеd using proactiv аnd I hаνе found thе cleanser tο bе really harsh, ѕο I wаѕ wondering іf I сουld υѕе a different cleanser along wіth thе proactiv toner аnd clearing lotion?
It’s a system so it’s meant to be used together. You may want to contact the company and see what to do – they may send you a different type of cleanser to use instead.
if you just started then use small amounts of the toner. Eventually it will stop stinging. It happened to me and now it doesn’t hurt at all. plus when you first start you are only suppose to use once a day for like 4 days.
If you find the cleanser to be harsh, then you may have to substitute it, even though using only Proactive products is what they recommend. You might check at Wal-Greens. They have a great line that is very similar to Proactive but isn’t as strong. Also, you might want to consider that your skin may be sensitive, instead of acne prone. Senstive skin will mimic acne when the wrong products are used.
Yes. However the outcome may be different. But you might want to continue your use with proactive cleanser because your skin may not be used to the product however if you still have problems just reduce the amount of times you use it a week because you may have too sensitive skin!. also try alternating back and forth with different cleansers and the proactive until you find the right combination.
hope this helped, good luck
You say it’s harsh, but that just means it’s working to clear up the excess oil on your skin. If that system doesn’t work for you, then you might want to try Murad, which is gentlier on your skin than proactiv.
Try using Acne-Free it is just like proavtive and their clenser might not be as harsh. G to CVS, Wall Greens or Rite Aid, maybe even Wally World aka Wal*Mart. Good Luck and I hope this was helpful.
