Is anyone taken ISOTRETINOIN? Acne medicine.?
It hаѕ a lot οf side efects, аnd mу dematologist recomended іf thе antibiotics doesn’t dο thе work. I аm a lіttlеr concern. Thanks.
Isotretinoin is the same thing as Accutane. The first article in the first answer shows that. I took Accutane as a teenager, first when I was 13 then again at 15. There are a side effects. The first thing you notice is dry skin. Very, very dry skin. Get some Aquaphor or Vaseline for your lips. Sometimes I would just rub it on my face. They have to draw your blood at least once a month (mine was every 2 weeks because it elevated my triglycerides). If you are a girl you have to be on birth control and they have to give you pregnancy tests because it causes birth defects. It can also cause depression, especially in teenagers. All that aside, it was the best thing ever for me! I had awful acne and now I am 22 and haven’t had a breakout since I was 15. I also have a healthy baby girl (16 months) so don’t be worried that you will NEVER be able to have kids. You just can’t within a year of taking the drug. If your acne is severe, or affects your life negatively, you should take Accutane, it was wonderful (afterwards anyways).
I used to use that on my face when I was in high school. After I first started using it, my face was red and dry for days. Then one day I was outside all day for a track meet. It was cloudy and cool out, and I was actually wearing a fleece hoodie because I was so chilly. Well, my face was so sensitive from the medication that even through the clouds I got the worst sunburn of my life. I looked like a lobster, and my nose and forehead got huge blisters all over them. My doctor said that I had 2nd degree sunburns and sun poisoning. I had to keep this nasty white cream all over my face for about a week, and then when the blisters finally went away my whole face turned into a giant brown scab that then proceeded to peel off in chunks. It was disgusting, and I looked awful for at least 2 weeks. I would say to try Proactiv or something like that that is much gentler on your skin. If you have to use that medication because you can’t afford anything else or nothing else works, then make sure you make sunscreen a part of your daily skincare regimen! Put on at least SPF 15 every single day, even if it is cloudy. And when you first start taking it, start off with a very small amount, maybe every other day. Don’t get overanxious for it to work and load it on. Your skin will peel and you will look like a lobster. Good luck, and I hope your skin clears up for you!
I cured my acne by eating primarily raw fruits and vegetables in addition to raw fats from dairy, coconuts, etc.
