Absolutely! In fact, I was going to recommend that you go to your doctor and ask him to put you on Tetracycline (also known as Doxycycline or Sumycin) My brother had terrible acne and nothing worked for him until he took the antiobiotic. The only real side effect I noted him having with the TCN treatment was that it causes one to readily sunburn when outdoors. Many products on the market can actually make it worse, such as that Benzoid Peroxide (or something like that.) If you use such a thing, don’t use anything higher than the 5% strength – the 10% doesn’t do any more and irritates the skin. Many products also work the same way, but companies want you to think that if a little may help, why not spend more money and get something stronger which doesn’t really do anyhting but empty your wallet.
Go to a skin Dr. to be treated for severe acne, they have special treatments that can help. The Dr. can also prescribe a antibotic to help.
I know what worked for me pretty well but it might not be for everybody, I stopted eating fatty foods, greasy foods, and got all the hair off and away from my face. Also I would wash my face fairly often throughout the day when I noticed it getting oily, and also I know it might be hard but you really have to try and not touch them at all. Or your face for that matter….keep hands away. It makes the biggest difference. Try it…it might work….did for me. Might for you. Sorry if it doesn’t.
Maybe it’s not acne. What you are describing sounds more like rosacea (not sure the spelling is right), maybe even excema. You should go to a skin doctor and see what they say because Proactive worked for me and keeping my hands away from my face but it was actually acne. not redness that you are describing. If it is redness you may have something other than just acne going on.
Go on the birth control pill. Orth Tricyclen is the one proven to reduce acne. It worked wonders for me.
My recommendation is not to take the antibiotics first. Antibiotics come with other health side effects.
Acne can be indicative that your body is full of toxins. You should go on a more cleansing diet or do juice fasting. Here is a site that talks about detox diets

I struggled with acne for years and I finally found the solution that works for me. We have been fooled, tricked, deceived, and just plain lied to. It’s time that someone put a stop to it, and everyone learn the truth!
Those of us who suffer from acne have usually been given 2 choices and neither of them work:
1. Over the counter remedies such as cleansers, creams, ointments, etc. These things have been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.
2. Go see a doctor and or dermatologist. They will generally prescribe prescription drugs which include topicals and or antibiotics. This, too, has been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.
I found a step-by-step program that cured my acne and it has never come back. It is amazing and doesn’t use any drugs or doctors. The truth is that acne can be cured…if we know the secret the doctors and drug companies don’t want us to know.
There is a great website: http://cure-my-acne.info/3daycure/ that has all the details. I really suggest you check it out and see if it works as well for you as it did for me.
