I do a couple of things. My skin tends to be dry except for in the t-zone (forehead, nose, chin). I only wash my face once a day because if you wash your face a lot it dries it out and your oil glands will work overtime to replace the lost oils which can result in more blemishes, especially white/blackheads. I personally prefer to use Neutrogena since it’s gentle and non-allergenic.
I also believe in using a light, oil-free lotion during the day to help prevent your skin going crazy to remoisturize. (And make sure it has some sun protection in it!)
For spot treatments, I usually use essential oils at night. I mix a drop of tea tree and a drop of lavender together and just put it straight on the blemish. This is the most gentle way I’ve found to spot treat. If you’re in a hurry, you can use Mario Badescu’s Drying Lotion. It works quickly but can really dry out the spot you’re using it on so be cautious and use only a small amount.
talking Oratane Pills (which has to be prescribed by doc) helps to control the breakouts and reduce oil and shine on the face…i think its best to consult doctor who can advise the kinda treatment for your skin problems
I’ve had problem skin growing up. It sucked because no matter the brand of cleansers and washes I bought at the store, they NEVER helped (Neutrogena, Clearasil, Clean and Clear, Proactiv and even higher end stuff that cost $30-$75). I used to have red spots all over my face that were from previous pimples and even when my skin was clear my skin still looked like crap and it looked like I still had acne. Until I found Alpha Hydrox on drugstore.com! I swear by this regimen! I can guarantee you’ll see results with these products and they’re all on drugstore.com. Wash only once a day with all this stuff, at night, and within a week you’ll see change. I felt so helpless with my skin until these products.
Alpha Hydrox Nourishing Cleanser (this will shrink your pores in a week and blackheads are less noticeable), Biore’s Triple Action Astringent (I love this stuff. It’s the only toner that’s ever helped my skin), Alpha Hydrox Fade cream (this will make your skin really red for a little bit after applying it, but it will go away. It might even sting/burn slightly for a couple minutes as well but that will go away within a few days and it’s totally normal), and end it with an oil-free moisterizer WITH SPF and Alpha Hydrox has some that’s good and so does Biore. The active ingredient in the Fade Cream makes your skin sensitive to sunlight so you have to use a moisturizer that has SPF or your face will go red when you go outside. The Fade Cream is $11 but lasts for at least 2 months. I know this is long but I know how you feel and I really think you’d benefit from this stuff. Good luck! Himalayan Rock Salt. I found it in a shop in Olinda (victorian Dandenongs) and it is for people with dry skin and acne, and it is so good.
apart from that, drink lots of water, stay away from dairy and sugar, and try some tea-tree oil on it.
