My husband took Accutane. It helped him out so much. He took it when he was 15 (he is now 21)… and he has never had acne since. You just have to be sure to go in for all of your blood tests, and if you have any thoughts of suicide, tell an adult. haha… I probably sound like your mom.
I also had another friend who used it, and his skin was extremely dry and itchy. It actually looked red and inflamed because it was so dry. The doctor prescribed some awesome moisturizing lotion that took it all away.
Just know that there are side effects, but every medicine has side effects. As long as you are careful and let your doctor know of anything that is bothering you, you should be just fine! Good luck, and I hope your skin turns out beautiful! =)
